Baez schedules more depositions

The attorney for accused child killer Casey Anthony will conduct more depositions on May 13th.

Wednesday, Baez filed a notice that he will again depose a corrections officer with the Orange County Jail. Tuesday, Jose Baez questioned Lt. Tammy Uncer for several hours but said at the end of the day that he still wants to know more about what happened on December 11th, 2008.

On that day, Lt. Uncer brought Casey to the jail infirmary where she saw news coverage that a child's remain had been found near the Anthony home. The remains were later discovered to be that of Caylee Anthony, Casey's daughter.

Her reaction no the news was video taped - Baez questions the motive.

Baez also announced that he will question two deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office who responded to the scene when Caylee's remains were found.

Deputy Eduard Turso told investigators that meter reader Roy Kronk discovered Caylee's remains in a plastic bag while relieving himself in the woods.

Finally, Baez will depose an employee of Universal Studios. Casey told friends and family that she worked for Universal in the time leading up to her daughter's disappearance. On the day Casey was first arrested, she led deputies to Universal saying she was going to take them to her office. She eventually told them that she no longer worked there.

Casey Anthony's defense team wants a retraction from WFTV-Channel 9.

The station says no way.

Jose Baez's spokeswoman said WFTV's Kathi Belich was wrong when she reported this week that Baez "faxed copies of his motion for a change of venue to some reporters before he ever filed it with the court."

Baez spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie fired off an e-mail to the station: "Please retract this fabrication that you reported. Let us know when you plan to retract your report."

"We're not going to retract it," WFTV news director Bob Jordan told me. "Faxed or handed. Makes no difference how it was transmitted. What matters is that it was transmitted to reporters."

Mackenzie said that simply wasn't so and that the motion wasn't provided to any reporter before it was filed.

"Their reports are tainted with the way they like to spin their own story," Mackenzie said today. "Kathi Belich, it appears, came late to a news conference so she could make her own entrance. She hangs back and then tries to grab Jose by herself. So much of this is about theater. These are things that are a trademark of Channel 9, the confrontational interview. "

Mackenzie said WFTV has sent out a message, through all its Anthony reporting, that the station is pro-prosecution. But this particular report -- about the change of venue motion -- was enraging because it was a fabrication, Mackenzie said.

Newly released evidence could help Casey Anthony’s defense

On Friday, more than 400 pages of new discovery documents were released by the state focusing on Caylee Anthony’s remains and forensic tests.

This new evidence could help the defense since it includes FBI test results that show the dirt and debris in Casey Anthony’s car trunk could not be definitively matched to the location where Caylee’s remains were found.

In addition, lab tests on over 20 pairs of Casey’s shoes did not show a link between soil samples collected from the bottom of the shoes and the wooded area where Caylee’s remains were placed.

Caylee’s hair was tested for a number of different drugs, with negative results. There was no trace of alprazolam also known as Xanax, or diazepram also called Valium.

The report noted that just because negative results were obtained, this is not proof that Caylee was not exposed to the drugs listed. New Casey Anthony Evidence.

Additionally, the documents indicate the FBI did not test hair samples from Caylee’s remains for chloroform because it was “not deemed probative by the FBI Laboratory’s Chemistry Unit.”

The documents also show that Roy Kronk, the utility worker who discovered Caylee’s remains on Dec. 11, was not the only person who had tried to alert authorities about a suspicious object in the wooded area where Caylee was eventually found. A volunteer gave police a tip in Aug. 2008 and took evidence from the wooded area, including a bag of stuffed animals. The volunteer gave the bag to Cindy Anthony, Caylee’s grandmother, who claims she did not recognize the toys. The volunteer then met with Deputy Richard Cain, who looked at the toys and threw them back into the woods.

Kronk had also called authorities as early as Aug. 2008 informing them he had seen a suspicious bag in the area. Instead of a thorough investigation, Kronk claims the same deputy, Richard Cain made a very quick search of the area and then left. He also said Cain was rude to him.

Cain’s meeting with the volunteer occurred five days after his meeting with Kronk.

Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of 2-year-old Caylee and her trial is tentatively scheduled for Oct 12.

Fla. deputy missed 2nd tip in Caylee Anthony case

We have more news on Casey Anthony’s Case. The sheriff's deputy who was criticized for his poor response to a tip that eventually led to the discovery of Caylee Anthony's remains had failed to follow up on a call from another tipster who thought the missing toddler's remains would be found in woods near her home, according to documents released Friday.

Tipster Keith Williams told investigators that former Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Richard Cain "kind of brushed me off" when he called authorities last August asking them to examine stuffed animals he discovered near the woods where Caylee's remains eventually were found.

Williams' call came several days after meter reader Roy Kronk called authorities to report what looked like a skull in the same woods near where Caylee lived with her grandparents and mother. Cain responded to Kronk's call but brushed off the meter reader's suspicions, according to the documents.

An internal investigation found the deputy's response to be negligent. Cain is appealing his firing. In both cases, he said he searched the area and saw nothing suspicious.

Kronk called authorities on three consecutive days last August to report the suspicious items. Caylee's remains were not discovered until five months later when the meter reader returned to the woods last December and found them.

Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, has been charged in her daughter's death. She has pleaded not guilty and said that Caylee was kidnapped by a baby sitter.

Lab Tests Don't Link Anthony Evidence

Hundreds of pages of documents were released Friday morning in the Casey Anthony case including interviews with key witnesses and lab results.

Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, whose remains were found in December near the Anthony family's east Orange County home. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July, a month after she was last seen alive.

Included in the document release were lab results from evidence found in the Anthony home, Casey Anthony's car and in the woods where Caylee's remains were found.

According to the documents, detectives were trying to link evidence from all three locations, but based on the lab results so far, there is no conclusive scientific connection.

Scientists at the FBI lab examined Caylee's hair for foreign chemicals, specifically muscle relaxants and Xanex, but no chemicals were found. Scientists said it is still possible that Caylee was exposed to small amounts of the drugs.

A knife found in Casey's car had a clear, sticky residue on it, but tests did not prove that the knife was used to cut the duct tape found around Caylee's mouth. Results also showed the duct tape did not have any fingerprints on it.

Detectives also seized 22 pairs of Casey's shoes from the Anthony's home. Soil from the bottom of those shoes was compared to samples from the crime scene in the woods, but there were no matches.

An interview with Roy Kronk that was also included in the release has details of why the meter reader was in the woods the day he discovered Caylee's remains.

At the time of the discovery, Kronk told investigators he had walked off into the woods to relieve himself, but that was apparently not the case.

In the interview, Kronk told detectives he paid close attention when working in the area around the Anthony home because of a statement Casey Anthony made to her family

"I feel like she is close to home," Casey Anthony said in a videotaped visitation with her family.

Kronk seems to have kept that statement in mind when working in the area.

"My theory, well, real simple, was that she kept saying she was close," Kronk told detectives. "And it just made sense to me that if you were going to get rid of something like that, well, you would put it in a place where you knew there would be very little traffic whatsoever.

Kronk also called the sheriff's department in August when he said he spotted something suspicious in the same area where Caylee's remains were eventually found.

Similar document releases have occurred regularly over the past several months.

Hundreds of pages of documents were released Friday. Among them was an interview with the sheriff's deputy who responded to a meter reader's repeated phone calls to check out woods where Caylee Anthony's body eventually was found.

Deputy Richard Cain was fired earlier this year after an internal investigation found his response to be negligent.

If Casey Anthony’s lawyer, Jose Baez, wanted to keep secret his attempt to get phone records from key people in the case, WFTV’s legal expert says he went about it the wrong wayThere will be at least one hearing because at least two of the 12 witnesses Baez wants to track through unlimited cell phone records are fighting it and most of the others probably will. Meter reader Roy Kronk and Casey’s friend Amy Huizenga say Baez wants way too much.

Baez wants unlimited cell phone records for 12 prosecution witnesses. Two of them, Kronk and Huizenga, are fighting it as an invasion of privacy.

“Let’s use a scalpel to get at the problem and not a meat cleaver to get at the problem,” said Kronk’s attorney, David Evans .

Defense attorney Jose Baez tried to keep his strategy secret, but after Circuit Judge Stan Strickland refused to meet secretly to discuss sending secret subpoenas to witnesses, WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said Baez filed an unnecessary court motion that will bring unwanted attention.

“Asking the court’s permission to do something you have permission to do to begin with,” Sheaffer explained.

Sheaffer said Baez could’ve identified the witnesses’ cell phone providers during depositions and then subpoenaed the companies’ records directly. Instead, he’s asked the judge’s permission.

”That will force Baez to tell the court what relevance these phone records may have to the defense,” Sheaffer explained.

That includes if he’s asked for more witnesses’ records than he really wants as a way to try to cover his tracks. Baez is also asking for the unlimited, detailed cell phone records for Casey’s parents and her brother. Casey Anthony: George, Cindy to sit for “Early Show” interview

Step aside, Oprah Winfrey. CBS will have the first interview with George and Cindy Anthony since granddaughter Caylee’s remains were found. Winfrey’s people had promoted that she would have that first interview next month.

Don’t George and Cindy know it’s not nice to cross Oprah?

CBS’ “Early Show” will interview the Anthonys over two shows this week.

Maggie Rodriguez will conduct the interview Wednesday and Thursday in the show’s New York studio.

And the topics? CBS said, “Rodriguez will talk to the Anthonys about the investigation into their granddaughter’s death, including the timeline of events leading up to the arrest of their daughter, Casey, for the crime. The Anthonies also will talk about how their daughter is handling the prosecution’s recent decision to seek the death penalty in their case against her.”

Which raises a question: How do George and Cindy know if they haven’t visited Casey?

Audio Released - How Did She React?

Accidentally released with new discovery in the Casey Anthony case is an audio file that details Lt. Tammy Uncer describing in detail how Casey Anthony responded to the news that a child’s body was found on Dec. 11, 2008. Though the audiotape is appealing to the general public, including devoted fans of CNN’s Headline News shows with Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell, many wonder if the accidental release might hurt the prosecution’s case.

In what might be the most publicized case in all of American history, the Casey Anthony trial has been unfolding before the public’s eye since the first day that Cindy Anthony called 911 and reported Caylee Anthony missing. The question remains as to whether this publicity and download of enormous amounts of videos, photos, and state evidence won’t backfire and give the defense an edge in the case. The thought of finding a jury selection that is unfamiliar with the Casey Anthony case is slim to none, and this might be a first for the U.S. court system. This just might be the first case in American history to unfold on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube and might even reshape the way court cases are handled.

Though many in the public have already decided that Casey Anthony is guilty, the question remains as to whether every American citizen is innocent until proven guilty, and if that is still the case, is Casey Anthony getting fair representation? Additionally, if she is to go before a jury of her peers who will hear her case without a preconceived notion of guilt, will that truly be possible? With all of the media coverage and public outcry against Casey Anthony will a jury be willing to listen to the facts of the case, presented by both the prosecution and the defense, and weigh them according to logic and reason, without letting one year’s of media coverage cause emotions to cloud judgment?

A great injustice has been served towards Caylee Anthony. Her skeletonized remains were discarded revealing a killing that we will never truly understand. There were many blunders made along the way, especially the delay in finding her body through the inept handling of 911 phone calls and police investigations. Due to the level of decomposition, an exact cause of death will never be determined. However, what might be an even greater injustice to Caylee Anthony would be the possibility of a mistrial, due to the state releasing vast amounts of evidence without the express permission of the court.

Was Cindy Anthony Choking Casey?

An allegation surfaced that Casey Anthony’s brother, Lee Anthony, tried to pressure his sister to have sex with him. The sordid claim came after rampant rumors on the Internet that Lee Anthony was the biological father of Caylee Anthony.

Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter Caylee, who was reported missing last summer. Caylee’s body was found in December 2008 not far from the Anthony family home in Orange County.
Evidence released earlier in the year showed the FBI found the rumors credible enough to order Lee Anthony to take a paternity test that showed he was not Caylee’s father.

But in a newly released interview between investigators and Casey Anthony’s ex-fiance Jesse Grund, he claimed she told him her brother made sexual advances toward her.

”Uhm, Casey uh, and Lee were at the house alone together and Casey, and Lee attempted to have sex with her,” Grund said to investigators on Sept. 8, 2008. “My impression was that somehow he was trying to pressure her into it somehow.”

Grund also told investigators that Lee Anthony told him shortly before Caylee went missing that Casey Anthony had a very violent fight with her mother.

“Cindy confided in him that the reason, he thought, she felt that Casey ran off was there was a big fight between the two of them, and the fight concerned Casey not being home a lot and not bringing Caylee by,” Grund said. “It got into a very heated argument, which turned physical, and Cindy started choking Casey.”

The Anthony family has long questioned the credibility of Grund and suggested that, as Casey’s ex-fiance, he may have had something to do with Caylee’s disappearance.

George Anthony Left 5-Page Suicide Note, Sent Suicidal Texts to Family

George Anthony, grandfather of slain toddler Caylee Anthony, wrote a five-page suicide note before police found him alive in a Daytona Beach, Fla., motel today, ABC News has learned. ap_george_anthony_090123_mn

Anthony was taken into police custody early this morning and transported to Halifax Medical Center for evaluation under a Florida law called the Baker Act, which allows authorities to hold people without their consent for up to 72 hours pending a psychiatric evaluation.

In addition to the letter, Anthony sent suicidal text messages to his family saying he “doesn’t want to live anymore,” Daytona Police Department spokesman Jimmie Flynt said.

Police would not comment on the contents of the letter, but Flynt told ABC News it did not raise speculation that George Anthony was involved in his 2-year-old granddaughter Caylee’s murder.

Anthony’s daughter, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, was charged with Caylee’s murder in October before the toddler’s decomposed body was found less than a mile from the Anthony family home in December.

Halifax spokeswoman Salina Wang told ABC News that Anthony is in stable condition.
‘Just Need to Get Away’

Anthony was reported missing by his family Thursday when he failed to show up for a scheduled meeting. Police were able to track Anthony to Daytona’s Hawaii Motel through his cell phone, which he used to send his family text messages that implied he intended to kill himself, Daytona Police Chief Mike Chitwood told ABC’s Orlando affiliate WFTV.

Chitwood, who spoke to Anthony when he was discovered at the motel, said Anthony was low-key and “melancholy” when they spoke.

“[Anthony] basically said to us, ‘You know, I just need to get away. I need to think things through.’ That’s why he was there,” Chitwood told WFTV.

Police then invoked the Baker Act and took him to the hospital.

Anthony “went willingly” and fully cooperated with police and was not handcuffed on the way to the hospital, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Carlos Padilla said.

“He was not arrested. He has not committed a crime,” Padilla told ABC News.

According to Padilla, George Anthony’s most recent actions have had no bearing on his status in the investigation into Caylee’s murder and does not draw suspicion that he was somehow involved.

“The pressures and everything may have gotten to him,” Padilla said. “My heart goes out to him.”

Since Caylee’s disappearance in June, George Anthony and his wife Cindy Anthony have steadfastly maintained Casey’s innocence and called her a “victim” in the case.

George’s disappearance came just days after gruesome details emerged concerning the discovery of Caylee’s body.

Adhesive residue from a heart-shaped sticker was found on the duct tape that covered Caylee Anthony’s mouth when her body was found in December, according to an affidavit released Wednesday by the Orange County, Fla., state attorney’s office.

The sticker appeared to have been “intentionally” placed on the duct tape, according to the affidavit, written by Det. Yuri Melich.

While the sheet from which the sticker came from was not found at the scene, according to the affidavit, investigators did locate a small heart-shaped sticker similar in size to the residue found on the duct tape in the area where the body was found.

Also found at the scene was a small shirt, size “3T,” a small pair of white shorts with vertical stripes, size 24 months, and a “Winnie the Pooh” blanket.

Melich wrote that when authorities arrived at the scene it looked as though the remains had been put in a cloth laundry bag prior to being placed inside a plastic bag.

The remains were found Dec. 11, 2008, less than a quarter mile from the home Caylee shared with her mother and grandparents, by utility worker Roy Kronk.

Could Zenaida Gonzalez have been Code for Caylee Anthony’s Location and Not Just a Nanny’s Name?

Just when we thought we had seen and heard it all, we witnessed yet another event that shocked and appalled us even more. The evidence and lack of honesty from Casey Anthony has been evident from the start. It just got stranger …

Lee and Casey Anthony jail telephone conversation

Now comes yet one more bizarre set of circumstances, or is it just an incredible coincidence? Was the name that Casey Anthony used for the nanny, Zenaida Gonzalez, also code for where Caylee Anthony’s body was dumped? Did Casey Anthony give Lee Anthony cryptic messages in a jail house telephone conversation on July 26, 2008?

As fate would have it, Zenaida Gonzalez is not just the name of the fictitious nanny that Casey Anthony dreamed up to blame the kidnapping of her daughter, believe it or not Zenaida Gonzales is also the location where the remains of two year old Caylee Anthony was found. Was Casey telling Lee where she dumped the body or was she playing a sick game of leaving clues that no one was picking up on?

As first discussed in the forums of Scared Monkeys.net, was Casey Anthony providing a location to brother Lee where Caylee was brought? That is correct, Zenaida and Gonzales are the individuals who live in the land plots adjacent to the location where the skeletal remains were found of Casey Anthony. And just when one thought there could be something from this case that would not surprise them.

CASEY: I know but there are some things that I have told them that were misconstrued and not used to their benefit. I gave them the same resources that I gave you and you found out a hundred more things then they did. And they were given the same information. So it’s just about the approach I guess and using the resources to their full extent. Again I’m everybody’s biggest resource; you have said that, Jose has said that, mom and dad have said that.

LEE: Right but at the same time we still we just need to figure out how we can be clear on what ever we’re giving to them, so even if we have to you know speak very direct or we can’t really speak in generalities with them, with anybody is what I’m finding out . Or if we tell them I’m not completely sure on the spelling or I’m not completely sure on this or that. They take everything exactly up front to the ‘T’. Exactly how you provide it. So if it’s off at all they don’t even think to look in any other areas….

Each officer I gave the same information at least two or three times, I’ve done the same thing with you, the same thing with mom, the same thing with Jose. CASEY: My gut feeling? As mom asked me yesterday and even Jose asked me last night, the psychologist asked me this morning that I got through the court, um in my gut she’s still ok. And it still feels like she’s close to home.

The following is what is on file for tax records for the addresses of 4701 Hopespring Dr and 4709 Hopespring Dr. From an earlier statement from Kiomarie Cruz, she states that the only Gonzales individual she knows is a Hispanic woman that lives right down the street from us, but does not baby sit children.

Documents Show Casey Anthony Joked About Drugging Caylee to Sleep

Newly-released documents in the Caylee Anthony murder investigation suggest that the Florida girl’s mother once joked about drugging her to sleep.

The documents, which were made public on Wednesday, include reports on police interviews with a former boyfriend of the girl’s mother, Casey Anthony, 22, who is charged with killing the toddler.

The former boyfriend, Ricardo Morales, told investigators that Anthony had joked about administering baby medicine to put Caylee asleep, though he also said it appeared that Casey had a normal relationship with her daughter, according to MyFOXOrlando.com’s report on its review of the new documents.

Detectives also questioned Morales about chloroform, traces of which were found in the trunk of Anthony’s car during forensic testing, MyFOXOrlando.com reports.

The state attorney’s office reports also contained text messages from several of Anthony’s friends indicating surprise that she had never mentioned that her daughter was missing for a month before authorities were contacted.
“Y wouldn’t u tell me of all people?” former boyfriend Anthony Lazzaro wrote, according to the reports. “Why would you lie to me thinking she was fine and with your nanny?”

Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, declined to comment on the documents, MyFOXOrlando.com reports.

Caylee Anthony was 2 years old when she disappeared in June, but she wasn’t reported missing until a month later, by Casey Anthony’s parents. The girl’s body was found in December in a wooded area by the family’s Orlando home by a utility worker.

The documents released Wednesday indicate that the girl was placed in a laundry hamper bag and had silver duct tape around her mouth. The documents – more than 300 pages — include reports from police and crime scene investigators, FBI crime lab reports and transcripts of 911 calls placed by the meter reader who found the girl’s remains.

Investigator: Heart sticker on duct tape that covered Caylee’s mouth

A heart-shaped sticker was put on the duct tape that covered Caylee Marie Anthony’s mouth, an Orange County investigator wrote in search warrant affidavit.

That detail is one of several included in hundreds of pages of legal documents released today by the State Attorney’s Office in its case against Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony.

The reports detail more about what investigators found when Caylee’s remains were recovered Dec. 11:

- The remains appeared to have originally been within a black plastic bag and within a cloth laundry hamper bag. - There was a piece of silver duct tape over the mouth area of Caylee’s skull. - Inside the bag, investigators found a small shirt, small pair of white shorts and small cloth-type letters that appear to be iron-ons, and a Winnie the Pooh blanket

While the duct tape was being processed at the FBI lab in Quantico, Va., investigators noticed residue in the “perfect shape of a heart.” The residue “appeared to be consistent with the adhesive side of a heart shaped sticker,” sheriff’s Detective Yuri Melich stated in one of the documents.

He noted that investigators who scoured the wooded area where Caylee’s remains were found located a small heart-shaped sticker similar in size to the residue on the tape.

“It appears that the sticker was put on the duct tape intentionally,” he stated.

In another search warrant for Casey’s home on Hopespring Drive, where she lived with her parents and Caylee, investigators asked to collect: - Arts and crafts materials, stickers and scrap book material - Casey Anthony’s shoes - Small plastic toy horses similar to one found at the crime scene

The investigator also asked for the authority to observe and note any prescriptions on the property.

Dozens of pages of reports from crime-scene technicians were released, as well as transcripts from 911 calls made by the meter reader who found Caylee’s remains.

A medical examiner had to cut the child’s brown hair to remove the tape, and when the FBI took a close look, it found adhesive residue in the shape of a heart, according to court documents released Wednesday.

The investigators who scoured the Orange County woods where Caylee’s remains were found last month found a loose sticker similar in size.

“It appears that the sticker was put on the duct tape intentionally,” an Orange County detective wrote in a search-warrant affidavit.
The new detail was one of several made public in hundreds of pages of legal documents released by the State Attorney’s Office in its case against Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony.

Investigators determined that 2-year-old Caylee’s remains appeared to have been packed originally inside a black plastic bag and a cloth laundry hamper bag.

Also found were a size 3T shirt, a small pair of striped white shorts, small cloth-type letters that appear to be iron-ons and a Winnie the Pooh blanket.

In one search warrant, investigators asked to collect a variety of items from the nearby Anthony family home on Hopespring Drive, including arts–and-crafts items, stickers and scrapbooking material.

The search warrant also sought all of Casey Anthony’s shoes, small plastic toy horses similar to one found at the crime scene, and permission to take note of any prescriptions on the property.

Many of the documents released Wednesday were reports from crime-scene technicians on the evidence they’ve collected, ranging from clothes to hair.

One report concerned Ricardo Morales, one of Anthony’s ex-boyfriends, and a photo he once posted on MySpace that had lettering stating, “Win her over with Chloroform.”

When Morales was asked about the photo, he told an investigator he found the photo online and thought it was “kind of funny.” He removed it from his MySpace account after hearing someone comment on it after Anthony was arrested.

Investigators have said they found traces of chloroform in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car, where they also say they detected odors from a decaying body.

Morales told an investigator he never spoke with Anthony about chloroform and he didn’t recall her ever asking about it.

Anthony’s defense attorney held a late-afternoon news conference Wednesday, but would not comment on the documents.

“I’m going to try this case in the courtroom, not on the courthouse steps,” Jos� Baez said.

Instead, Baez defended his representation of Anthony and addressed speculation about him that has appeared in the media.

The Kissimmee lawyer said he has no book or entertainment deals related to the criminal case, nor is he is working for Anthony on a contingency basis, which would violate rules of The Florida Bar.

“I have nothing to hide,” Baez said.

When asked about a reported Bar investigation of him, Baez said he has had numerous complaints filed against him by anonymous people.

“They have absolutely nothing to do with any entertainment deals or book deals,” he said.

Baez spoke briefly about his plan to ask a judge to move the trial out of Orlando, but he would not say where he thought the case should go.

Baez filed a motion earlier this week asking a judge to let him inspect the woods where Caylee’s remains were found.

The property is posted “No Trespassing” and the listed owner is not responding to requests to go on the land, the lawyer wrote.

Lee Anthony is not Caylee’s father

After DNA evidence from Caylee Anthony was compared to DNA evidence taken from Lee Anthony, it was confirmed he is not Caylee's father (see top of page 62 of forensic evidence report).

There had been an abundance of speculation and innuendo that Lee may have fathered Caylee with his sister Casey Anthony.

These rumors resulted due to reports that Casey made allegations against her brother for touching her inappropriately when she was younger.

In addition, Casey did not name Caylee’s father on the birth certificate, so the mystery remains regarding his identity.

Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee, and her trial is tentatively set for Oct. 12.

Casey Anthony and Jose Baez share red licorice?

According to Fox 35, Casey Anthony, 22, and her lead defense attorney, Jose Baez, may have shared some intimate moments during jail visits.

Baez had been reprimanded in the past for hugging Anthony during one visit, which jail officials called social hugs. Some have told Fox 35 that during moments in court, Baez and Anthony may have been flirting with one another.

Anthony’s private investigator, Jim Hoover, is now telling investigators that on one occasion, Baez brought red licorice to the Orange County Jail. According to Hoover, Baez was sitting on one side of a piece of glass that had a hole in the middle of it, while Anthony was on the other side.

Hoover said, “…he [Baez] started eating on one side and you know, she [Anthony] was eating on the other side so it looked like they were kissing through the glass or something, you know…”

Hoover also claims that another private investigator, Dominic Casey told him that he went with Baez to the jail one night to see Anthony. Dominic Casey claims they were there for three hours and not once did Baez and Anthony speak about the case.

An Orange County spokesperson, Allen Moore, confirmed for Fox 35 that Dominic Casey had been to the jail with Baez to visit Anthony. But, Moore claims that Baez and Anthony were sitting in the same room and there was no glass between them.

Anthony’s trial for the murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2, is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 12.

Wednesday, Jose Baez picked up the jailhouse video that was taken of Casey Anthony when she was told remains of a child were found near her family’s home.

Baez argued in court on Monday that by releasing the videotape, the prosecution is attempting to harass and embarrass his client.

During Monday’s hearing, the state’s attorneys said that taping inmate’s reactions to unpleasant news is not an uncommon practice. They also argued that once the videotape is entered into evidence it must be released as required by Florida law, except under certain circumstances.

Baez has two weeks to view the tape and file a motion if he wishes to attempt to block its release.

A court date for Anthony’s murder trial is tentatively set for Oct. 12. Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Casey Anthony answering deposition questions in Gonzalez lawsuit

On Friday, Zenaida Gonzalez’s attorney filed a motion asking the court to force Casey Anthony to answer the questions posed on a deposition in a defamation lawsuit against her.

Gonzalez, 38, claims her life has been ruined due to Anthony, 22, naming her as the babysitter that abducted her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. Gonzalez has filed a defamation suit against Anthony to attempt to rectify the damage she has suffered.

Anthony alleges that on or about June 9, 2008, she dropped Caylee off at Gonzalez’s apartment. Anthony claims Gonzalez inexplicably kidnapped the little girl. Caylee’s remains were found in a wooded area on Dec. 11, near the Anthony family home.

Authorities cleared Gonzalez of any wrongdoing and after viewing photographs of Gonzalez, Anthony claimed the woman investigators located was not the same woman with whom she left Caylee.

Anthony was given 27 questions to answer when deposed for the lawsuit and only answered two of them. The first question she answered was asking for her name.

The second, question 17, asked, “Were you involved in the death of Caylee?” Anthony stated in writing, “The defendant would object to the question and would move to strike it. This question is being brought solely to embarrass, harass and brought in an attempt to implicate the defendant in an on-going criminal prosecution for First (1st) Degree Murder.”

Anthony’s answer to the other 25 questions was, “Upon advice and counsel of my attorney, I am invoking my right to remain silent pursuant to the 5th Amendment of the United States Constitution.”

A hearing regarding whether Anthony will be required to answer all of the deposition questions is scheduled for Mar. 18. Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee, and her trial is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 12.

Number 1 Crime Story of 2008 - Caylee Anthony

How her mother Casey Anthony killed her in a cold blooded murder... Two year old Caylee Anthony went missing on or about June 15, 2008 and the only person who appears to know what actually happened to Caylee is her 22-year-old mother, Casey Anthony. According to Casey, she dropped little Caylee off with a babysitter and has not seen her since. Florida investigators have reported that the babysitter does not exist and the supposed address of the babysitter is an apartment that has not been occupied for several months.

Caylee’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony, contacted the authorities when Casey could not produce her granddaughter for over a month. After detecting a vile odor in Casey’s car Cindy became alarmed, called law enforcement, and this began the investigation into Caylee’s whereabouts.

Casey and Caylee had lived with Cindy and George Anthony from the time Caylee was born, but moved out of their home in June 2008. Casey told her parents she had dropped Caylee off at the babysitter’s, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, to watch Caylee while went on a business trip for her employer, Universal Studios.

During this time, it is reported that Casey tells friends that Caylee is spending time with the “nanny.” At the time Caylee is said to be missing, Casey is seen out at clubs drinking and partying with friends.

During the initial investigation, not only did Casey lie about the babysitter and her address, but she also lied to law enforcement about her employments status. In actuality, Casey had been fired from Universal Studios in 2006. Casey also claims she did not report Caylee missing for a month because she was conducting her own investigation.

Casey was first arrested in July 2008 and charged with making false statements to authorities, obstructing an investigation, and child neglect. During this first incarceration period, Casey’s car was searched and a stain and some hairs were found in the trunk. The hair strands were tested and were determined to be those of Caylee and the strands showed signs of decay. In addition, traces of chloroform were also found in the trunk.

In the midst of all this, Casey was in and out of jail after being bailed out by several different parties. Leonard Padilla, a reality television bounty hunter, was the first to come to Casey's rescue, but regretted the decision to bail her out after he met with her and got the impression she may be guilty of harming her child.

Shortly thereafter, Casey was arrested for fraud because she had stolen and used a friend's checks. In October 2008, Casey was charged with first-degree murder.

In December 2008, bones were found near the Anthony home in a wooded area that were identified as Caylee's remains. The Anthony family has been avoiding the public eye since this revelation.

Casey is expected to stand trial for the murder of Caylee in spring 2009.
